Siêu Thị ABC Supermarket: Your Go-To Spot for Fresh Vietnamese Groceries

ABC Supermarket doesn’t ease you in—it drops you straight into the deep end. Fluorescent lights humming, carts clattering, aunties negotiating over herbs you won’t find in any polished chain store. It’s loud, crowded, a little chaotic… and absolutely perfect. The air smells like fish sauce, ripe fruit, and something simmering somewhere in the back that you instantly want in a bowl. This isn’t curated authenticity—it’s the real thing. A madhouse, sure. But the good kind. The kind that tastes like home, even if you’ve never been.

A local friend who really knows the area took me to check out this Vietnamese supermarket, saying their sauces and seafood are especially cheap. After walking around the store, I noticed that some of the vegetables are slightly cheaper than at Shun Fat. As for sauces, I did a quick comparison with two Lee Kum Kee products I often buy: • Honey Soy Braising Sauce: As of early June 2025, it’s on sale for $2.99 on Weee, but here it’s $3.19. • Sweet Soy Sauce: $5.99 on Weee, but only $4.99 here — $1 cheaper! I even checked my receipt from Shun Fat back in April: I paid $3.29 for the Honey Soy Sauce (so this place is $0.10 cheaper), and $4.99 for the Sweet Soy Sauce, same price as here. The meat and seafood sections are clean and well-lit. Live Boston lobsters were on sale for $9.99/lb (as of 6/5/2025) and there was a line of people grabbing them. They also had a wide variety of live seafood, probably more than nearby Shun Fat or T&T Supermarket and prices are about the same or a bit cheaper. Bonus: they can clean or prep the seafood for you. (Most of the signage is in Vietnamese, so using a photo translation app really helps!) Note: For purchases under $10, it’s cash only. Over $10, you can pay by card. There are two vibrant ABC places, one nestled in the bustling city of Anaheim and the other in the lively community of Westminster; both feature ample parking spaces to accommodate visitors. Within these markets, shoppers can explore a delightful array of products that encompass a rich selection of Vietnamese goods and a limited variety of other Asian offerings. The markets are a treasure trove, showcasing everything from fresh groceries and specialty food shops to eastern medicine and essential fast-moving consumer goods. Personally, I find the sidewalk market to be particularly appealing, as it allows for a delightful blend of leisurely strolling and shopping in one go — perfect for those laid-back days when you want to enjoy the outdoors. As you meander through the vibrant stalls, you’ll encounter a diverse range of street hawkers, each trying to make a living by selling an assortment of delicious homemade dishes, vibrant homegrown plants, and various unique local services. It's an experience that tantalizes the senses and captures the essence of Asian American community life.

Love this store for all my Asian groceries. Sometimes they have great sales on seafood like crabs and lobsters. We got two 9 lbs lobsters for an amazing deal! Service was great!

Whenever you crave for some fresh crabs, come to this run down supermarket early in the morning and get your fix. There’s a cook station right next to the seafood tanks and you can have your crabs cooked by your choice of sauce for additional $1/lb. The cook station opens at 11 am though.

Super tight aisles, gets very crowded. But good selection. Butchers were nice.

It's the best Vietnamese supermarket in Little Saigon. Their prices are very competitive to all other Vietnamese supermarket in Little Saigon. I like their poultry and fish section. Lots of selections and the staff are nice and helpful. Plus, it's a great location with plenty of restaurants and hair salons. I'll eat breakfast there, go get a haircut, and finish off buying groceries at ABC.
